You can use Copilot without traffic rerouting. You do not need wifi or a cell data connection for any other function. There is still a detour function to get you around anything ahead that is a problem - just go to the menu and select detour like on any dash GPS. When downloading new maps it is recommended to use wifi instead of the cell data plan because you are downloading large map files that will waste data allowances from your cell carrier.
